an der Sar - Rooted to spot for free kick and his kicking out was wasteful. 5

Bardsley - Had a tight battle with Lennon and Lee but stood his ground solidly as you'd expect. 6

O'Shea - First half he was in total command but then dozed off after break and almost cost Reds at one point. 6

Ferdinand - Defoe gave him some difficult moments but he was largely on top of the situation. 6

Silvestre - Arguably his most consistent 90 minutes of the campaign. Solid at back and a poachers goal to boot. 6

Fletcher - As ever it was the final ball through to beat the defence that never came off for him. 5

Scholes - Started like a man on a mission spraying great balls around but then Tottenham midfield got on top as he faded. 6

Smith - Bone-crunching battle with Davids made you wince at times but it was great to see. 7

Park - The Korean's biggest struggle seemed to be staying on his feet. Didn't have the spark to worry Spurs. 5

Rooney - Couple of moments when you thought he'd get United firing but in the main this wasn't Rooney at his best. 6

Van Nistelrooy - Frustrating game when nothing really came his way to put away. 5

Subs:

Ronaldo (sub Fletcher 75) - Late header should have won it. 5

Rossi (sub Bardsley 81) - Nothing came his way. 5
